Through innovative spatial solutions, high-performance materials, and a careful distribution of functions, our aim is to create an environment that, while technical and essential for survival, is also able to evoke a sense of home. Such an approach contributes to the quality of daily life in a setting as hostile as it is fascinating.


In the context of a future human presence on Mars, the design of living spaces plays a fundamental role in ensuring both the physical and psychological well-being of astronauts, who will face extreme conditions and long periods of isolation.
Our proposal focuses on the definition and organization of the primary residential modules within a Martian base, with particular attention given to sleeping quarters and sanitary facilities. These environments are conceived around principles of functionality, efficiency, and shared use, with the goal of facilitating coexistence and reducing the stress caused by prolonged cohabitation in confined spaces.

The project envisions modular and flexible living units capable of providing comfort, safety, and adaptability — essential factors for preserving the crew’s long-term balance and resilience.
Ultimately, the design seeks to shape an environment that addresses survival needs while also offering a familiar, welcoming atmosphere, thereby turning an extreme scenario into a livable and human-centered habitat.
